Porter Murder and Lynching at Lake Station
On November 17 a self confessed murderer was burned by a mob at Lake Station, 700 witnesses watched as fire incinerated the criminal. John Porter was executed by tying to a rail, the crowd formed a circle and prayers were said before the flame. Louise Frost’s father Richard Wade attended the scene as investigators recounted the brutal punishment.
