Liaxcong Neb November 9 William J Bryan issued a statement on the election saying the result was a surprise to him and reflects an unexpected magnitude for the Republican victory. He commented further on the implications of the nationwide outcome.

In Bennettsville Ohio on November 18 Charles Johnson, a man over 60 with a young wife, stabbed Sherman Evans to the heart after resenting attentions. Will Evans was murdered in a separate case, with Wale Epps arrested November 8 charged with the crime. Hyans was shot in bed while asleep, with robbery suspected.
