Several figures from Arabi Byromville Pinehurst Cordele and Montezuma appear, with court sessions and local commerce updates. A saw mill fire near Vienna losses and a large Studebaker wagon stock headline local commerce. The Epworth League event at Wooten home adds social color to the Vienna scene.
Next Thursday November 26 will be observed as a day of thanksgiving. Rev Wesley Lane pastor of the Methodist church will preach the sermon at the Baptist church. Let everybody attend and bring a contribution. It will do you good.
The populists of the county plan a mass meeting at the courthouse Saturday to send delegates to a state convention for Supreme Court bench candidates. A pistol loss reward is noted for delivery.
NEW HOTEL PROPRIETOR Mrs G W Busbee who has had charge of the Southern hotel for several years has grown tired of hotel keeping and will retire January 1. Mr P G McDonald has leased the hotel to Mr N C Greer of Pearson Ga. Mr Greer is an old hotel man popular with the traveling public and will likely keep the Southern to its present high standard.
A pleasant Tuesday night cane-grind at Mr. W. W. Jordan's home hosted a group of young townspeople and partners. Attendees included W. W. Jordan and Miss Fannie Thomas, A. L. Powell with Miss Anna Hamilton, K. R. Lewis with Miss Gussie Lennard, Levy Taylor with Miss Lou Powell, W. A. Jones with Miss Ada Powell, Eugene Walton with Miss Maude Buebee, John H. Jordan with Miss Elle Speight and Viola Buff, along with G. W. Sheppard, J. M. Dupree, W. T. McDonald, S. P. Adams, Alex Taylor, and Eddie Stephens.
