Vienna Public Schools Rules and Fees 1897

1897 Vienna Public Schools regulations require teachers to report absences to the principal and trustees, pupil absences to be excused in writing, property damage repaired at the offender’s expense, no two pupils share a book, restricted school grounds exit, prescribed books and 4 to 6 daily recitations, courses limited to regular curriculum, school opens 8:30, sessions run with prompts, eight grades in three departments, matriculation fee 60 cents monthly, nonresidents $1.00, tickets from secretary, all complaints in writing, strong parental cooperation urged, private-family tuition from $8 to $10 monthly, music $8 per month.
