Campbell in Cordele, J. T. Graham in Unadilla, S. D. Thompson in Pinehurst, and J. C. McCormick in Findlay. one district had no election.
A large gathering seven miles southwest of Vienna celebrated New Year's Sunday with a grand dinner hosted by Mr and Mrs H Rotenn. Mrs Fenn, renowned for culinary skill, prepared a superb feast centered on a 41 pound dressed turkey with many other dishes. Attendees included Mrs June Tenn, Mr and Mrs John Callier, Mr and Mrs Harrie, and numerous others from Vienna and nearby areas. all expressed gratitude for hospitable hospitality and wished long life and happiness for the Fenns, lauding them as royalty of entertainment.
Notice from the town council indicates the next regular municipal election will decide a two year mayoral term two aldermen for two years and two for one year. The 1896 election followed amendments deemed valid by the Superior court after a Pinehurst ruling limited charter grants to towns under 2000.

At the brides residence near Bromville on Tuesday the 5th at 1 30 pm Kibbee Smith of Ind lay married to Dent Thompson. A large crowd at Mr D G Hughes home witnessed Miss M M Hughes wed Homer Smith with Judge D S Thompson officiating. Relatives and friends offered congratulations.
Mr. W. A. Jones traveled Tuesday to Hillsboro Georgia to wed Miss Edna McMillan. The marriage is a popular surprise among Jones family and friends, with many unaware of the plans until his departure, as he is a well regarded local businessman.
