Voters of Dooly County are urged to consider candidates for Tax Collector. The notices claim uprightness and integrity and seek Democratic Primary support. Names and spellings are garbled but indicate multiple residents announcing candidacy and soliciting votes.
W F Cranks commissioner will sell on March 2 1898 at Cordele Georgia a one half undivided interest in many city lots in Cordele described by block and lot numbers. Terms are one third cash one third in three months and one third in six months. Sale begins 10 am and continues daily until all property is sold.
Sheriff J W Roper announces tax sale proceedings on the first Tuesday in March at the courthouse door. The sale lists numerous parcels in Cordele, Camelo, and surrounding districts including blocks 141, 95, 206, and 140 with properties owned by J G Liner Ben Wallis I N Cornell Ty Cofer James Wright G A Perry C M Kelly Allen Nealy Mary T Taylor Ed Roberts J W Oliver M Nobles W T Croley A Shaw and Hop Harris. Taxes due cover 1897 1898 and 1907 with parcels including lots and acres in the 18th and 10th districts. The sale occurs at state and county tax auction.
Dr C T Stovall promotes Browns' Iron Bitters as a cure based on the old idea that impure blood causes most diseases. The piece claims the remedy has a long proven track record with many cures and notes it is sold by all dealers.
W. H. Bussey Marshal announces public sale at the courthouse door in Dooly County Georgia on the first Tuesday in March 1808 to satisfy taxes for 1897. The listing names numerous town lots and blocks in Cordele with owners including Jo e Lewis Go A and Lizzie Alfriend, among others, noting railroad right of way and properties levied under tax fi fa's.
An old Monroe Louisiana insert claims Dr Tichenor's Antiseptic gives perfect satisfaction. It notes T A Bruwer & Co and sale through Dr Stovall's. The date shown is February 24, 1993.
The appraisers for John F Thormbley may set apart yearly support and furniture for widow Henrietta E Thombley and six minor children Thea TU Earnest G Sarah L Gracie M Jie M and Robert L Thombley They will report findings on February 25. Also notices to debtors and creditors for Sarah A Napier J P Gurr and an advertisement seeking agents for a state wall map by Rand McNally & Co.
Administrators J M Warren and G W Holliday seek leave to sell estate lands located in Wilcox County Georgia. Hearing set for the first Monday in March 1898 before J D Hargrove ODC. February 7 1898. Also an advertisement for Dr J H McLean’s Liver and Kidney Balm priced at 1 00 per bottle sold by Dr C T Stovall.
