A traveling merry-go-round pitched on a public square opposite the New Southern Hotel. City council deemed it a nuisance and served notice. Managers avoided court by pulling down and moving to the next stop this morning.
Veterans held a Saturday meeting at the courthouse in this city with I B Lasseter presiding as commander pro tem. The committees on refreshments and privileges, program, and tables and arrangements named their chairs and members. H W Powell was appointed a delegate to attend the Gen John B Gordon monument unveiling in Atlanta on May 25.
The Atlanta, Birmingham and Atlantic Railroad seeks bids for a large order of freight cars totaling about 1.5 million dollars. Vice President George Dole Wadley reports representatives from car plants are in Atlanta and more are expected. the project promises substantial factory work for an extended period.
Miss Susie Locke of Montezuma wed Mr. J Forehand of this city in a ceremony at the bride's mother's home. The couple received warm wishes from friends as they began a new life together on Sunday afternoon.
