Local reports that M. E. Rushin will erect a three gin cotton ginnery on vacant lot behind his residence on R R Avenue. The plant will use an Olds gasoline engine for power and is billed as the city’s third ginnery, expected to boost local cotton processing capacity this season.
A rider, Turner Lane, on a mule near Lilly was dragged about 75 yards when the mule bolted after a motorbike rider, injuring his right arm and ankle but causing no serious damage. Lane walked the rest of the way and recovered the mule without further incident.
Next Saturday and Sunday at Vernon Baptist Church will host regular services with pastor J M Skelton preaching. At a committal trial in this city Lewis Austin, accused as a murderer of Laithrop Horne near Unadilla, was freed after evidence failed to connect him. Judge Powell presided. Solicitor George argued the case showed the wrong man on trial. Bonds were taken from several witnesses whose testimony suggested another man and two white men, Measra, Lewis Hudson, and Laidler Brannen, were implicated. Hudson was jailed last week. others remained at large.

Cordele Georgia June 10 extensive preparations are being made by the local committee to entertain the seventh semi annual convention of the Third Constitutional District Medical Association which convenes in this city June 15. The afternoon session will include a symposium on public health. A banquet will be tendered the visitors. The convention will be called to order by President HLA Mobley of Vienna and the address of welcome will be made by Col. W. H. Dorsis. Speakers include Dr. T. J. McArthur Cordele Dr. J. W.
