Mrs Lizzie Lewis widow of Falcon K Lewis and sister of the late David Gamble died Saturday just after noon at the Ward residence south of the city. She would have been 84 in September and was a longtime Methodist member. Her remains were laid to rest in Ward graveyard Sunday at about 9 o clock.
A large crowd attended a Mount Pleasant union singing last Sunday. H A Smith opened with a song, Pastor R E Tooke led prayer, and H D Royal became chairman with J J Barry secretary. Several singers led 15 minute segments, a noon intermission followed by more singing, and Ellis Lane, a 12 year old, performed three songs before closing prayers by Pastor Tooke.

A quiet home wedding was held at the Lasseter residence on Sixth Street Wednesday at 1:80 oclock. Miss Maggie Lasseter married Col William Virgil Harvard in a ceremony conducted by Rev J J Ansley. The couple, from prominent local families, will spend several days at Indian Springs.
Heavy hail fell in Lilly and vicinity Saturday night but caused no damage. Bank cashier J O McGough attends Georgia Bankers convention in Atlanta. W H Steele covers bank duties in his absence. Local housing needs noted as town grows, with T P Busbee planning a handsome residence on Church Street. Rev A J Cheaves preached at the Baptist church. E W Roberts listed as sick. Plans discussed for an up-to-date hotel and artesian well prospects dim due to quicksand encountered in boring. Mr Wilson and Mr Young may move to Lilly. A A Fuqua remains active as marshal and farmer with a fine cotton field.

City of Vienna council met with Mayor J B Walton and Aldermen Howell Thompson Taylor Newby. They lowered a water main on Church Street, approved a 25 dollar plumbing license, moved scales from sidewalks, regulated awnings, barred porters from Tailione tracks until trains depart, extended sidewalks on Union and Third Streets, required cows off sidewalks, and authorized Walton to borrow 1900 dollars to settle a note from a former mayor.
