Valdosta Ga June 10 registration books close after a week of heavy turnout and arrests for fraudulent registration. More than 800 warrants sworn, many already served as canvass of lists remains incomplete. Anti prohibition leaders bail bonds and possible damages suits surface while poll taxes surge prior to June 24 election.
Citizens invite county residents to a Union gathering at Shiloh on the fourth Saturday in June at 2 PM with speeches by Brother Walter Mathews and R. T. George. The letter urges farmers to join, stop selling cotton futures, and support holding cotton to aid small farmers.
An all day singing event will be held at Cedar Valley on the fifth Sunday in June starting at 10 AM. All singers and lovers of singing are invited to attend with their books. Dinner on the ground. The Dawson News reports state agriculture bulletin notes A C Laing bought piney wood lands in Calhoun County for saw mill use at $1.50 per acre. He prepared five acres with cotton seed manure and acid phosphate then produced five bales of cotton selling at 10 cents a pound. Gross $250. Expenses for acid phosphate $75 cultivation $50 total $125. He cleared $125 beyond timber revenue from the experiment.
The Forbes & Coxe Drug Co has been dissolved as B F Forbes buys L F Coxes interest. Forbes will run the business as Forbes Drug Co sole owner. Coxe retires to work as Express agent and Western Union Telegraph Operator and runs Crown Bottling Works.

Protracted meetings at the Baptist church grow in interest under Rev. Long Fort Valley. Attendance has been good at most services and much good is expected. Everyone is invited to attend. Preaching hours remain unchanged.
Dr G M D Hunt, once a Cordele citizen, has set up offices near the Cash Drug store and will operate a novelty business including light house furnishing goods. He plans to open a modern furnishing store here soon.
