Severe storm hits Vienna causing extensive damage and flooding
A fierce rain and thunderstorm swept Vienna yesterday afternoon around 1 o clock, bringing strong winds and lightning. It flooded streets and stores, damaged homes and property, downed telephone poles, and left crops and cotton fields drenched in water. Several residents reported it as one of the strongest storms in years with fires caused by lightning in at least one residence.

Forehand Boy Suffers Cast After Campground Accident
Cooper Forehand, son of Mr and Mrs J B Forehand, near Dooly campground, broke his left arm last Tuesday when he fell from a tent roof while playing with other boys. He received medical care and his arm was reported as improving at last accounts.

Griffin buried at Lane Cemetery after death in Adame Station Ga
The remains of Mr. Sam Griffin, who died Thursday night at Adame Station Georgia, were interred Sunday afternoon about 4 oclock at Lane cemetery east of the city. Rev R W Eubanks officiated. Griffin was a son in law of Mrs Rufus Lane of the Sixth district and a member of Pineta Baptist church in Irwin county. He is survived by a young wife and several relatives.
