A Pinehurst resident 79 year old T J Graves a Confederate veteran and respected citizen was found dead near 4 this morning after his clothing caught fire following a night at Judge S C Thompson's home One shoe burned off and a fall into the blaze are noted Interment expected in Henderson this afternoon
Miss Corene Shivers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Shivers, united with Mr. Jim Mass in a pretty afternoon wedding at the Shivers home in Harmony. Rev. C. J. Frier of Pinehurst performed the ceremony, and well wishes poured in for a happy life together.
A barn owned by Mr. C. A. Hortie on land now occupied by Mr. EK M Blankinship was burned last Wednesday night. The loss runs to several hundred dollars and the origin of the fire remains unknown. Unadilla Leader.

Wiley Matthews, a well known young man, was taken to Albany by Deputy Marshal Zack Norton for a committal hearing before a United States commissioner on a charge of defrauding the mails. A letter containing a check for 10 was misdelivered to a man who claimed the mail. The check was presented for payment but refused, and the culprit was located at the union depot.

Eight two story brick shops face loss with fire protection lacking. Losses itemized include J R Brown 96000 and 8000 of insurance Payton and Hay 4000 2500 insurance and others uninsured.
The Byrne Business Colleges won two first premiums and two diplomas at the San Antonio International Fair. Their students excel in bookkeeping, business training, shorthand, typewriting, writing, and telegraphy, with Miss Frierson named best touch typewriter operator. The schools have earned top honors at three state fairs in 14 months, with campuses in Tyler, Columbus, Guthrie, Athens, and Fredonia.
