Lee Currie Found Guilty of First Degree Murder
Lee Currie was convicted of first degree murder in the superior court and sentenced to hang on April 22 by Judge Hardeman. The verdict followed Currie’s second trial after a higher court ordered a new trial for earlier errors. Currie claimed self defense, admitting the killing in his statement to the jury.

George Donovan son of Mr and Mrs WwW O Donovan suffered a severe eye injury when a twig struck his right eye while riding in a truck Friday. Eyeball removal was deemed necessary and performed in Macon Tuesday after consultation with specialists. He rests comfortably post operation.

Judge Corbitt Illness Forces Court Recess

Hon. C. S. Meadows Sr. was celebrated at Normantown with over 150 relatives and friends from Vidalia Wrightsville Glenville Soperton and Kite.
