Masons Attend Special Service at Vidalia Lodge
Under Vidalia Lodge F and A M auspices union services were held at the city auditorium Sunday evening with Rev W M Blitch delivering a sermon. Toombs County Road Tax Defaulters on Trial
The December session of Toombs County Commissioners focused on road tax defaulters with over a hundred cases heard. A next session will tackle defaulters in districts 51st 1403rd 1521st 1715th and 1770th. Forty three were convicted and fined from 6 to 20 dollars with 10 to 20 days on the chain gang. several defendants may appeal.

Business Men's Class Bird Supper Delights Church Members
Last Friday evening in the basement of the new church the Business Men's Class of the Baptist Sunday school enjoyed a delightful bird supper served by the ladies. The event drew many guests and featured vocal solos by Mrs Threlkeld Meadows Tom Armour and Miss Waller readings. Each member spoke briefly and the class, led by W. O. Donovan as president with T. R. Armour as vice president and R. A. Mayer as secretary treasurer, is expanding its church work.

A Roberts Dead Vidalia Man Remembered Civil War Veteran
Mr. T. A. Roberts of Vidalia died Wednesday at age about 72 at his son's home, J. L. Roberts. The body was taken to Pembroke for funeral services conducted by Rev. W. M. Blitch. A veteran of the 60's Gray, he served gallantly in the Confederate cause during the Civil War.

Uvalda Man's Arm Torn Off In Saw Mill Accident

Williamson Boys Give Up Sunday
Fulton and Foster Williamson surrendered Sunday after being named in the November grand jury indictment for the murder of Otis Holmes. They were placed in Chatham county jail in Savannah Wednesday morning following a conference with state attorneys.
