Organization of Auxiliary Unit Is Legion Plan
The American Legion plans to form a Woman's Auxiliary with a first meeting the first Monday night in October. A committee led by Judge J V Teak and Mrs Leon H Brown will organize details and invite ex service men and women relatives of veterans. Membership is open to wives mothers sisters and female relatives of ex service men to strengthen county bonds and aid ex servicemen. Mrs T A Brunson of Wichita Falls plans to attend to help ensure success.

High School May Be Completed by October 1
The second floor of the new high school building is nearly finished aside from water, light and plumbing connections and minor finishing. A quiet week in District Court ends with a hung jury in Roy Goncee’s whiskey manufacture case. Goncee pleaded guilty but the jury split on a suspended sentence. Eight favored suspension, four opposed. The grand jury returned four bills before adjourning. J. A. Wagegey, who pled guilty to selling whiskey, began serving a one year penitentiary sentence after Monday's transfer. The Bowers Oil Company v. Peek and Hickerwell case was continued. Several civil cases are set for next week including Waggoner v. LaRue Oil Assoc and others.

City Commission Buys New Engine for Power Plant

Foundation for County Vault Is Laid Wednesday
The concrete foundation for the new county vault at the Wilbarger and Cumberland streets corner, formerly Robinson Motor company, was laid on Wednesday. Brick work began this morning.
