Earl Westmoreland breaks nose in horse accident
Earl Westmoreland of Antlers Oklahoma, son of Mrs J E Collins of Vernon, suffered a broken nose last week at his home when a horse owned by his young son struck him in the face. He was taken to Paris and spent several days in a hospital. The pony had a deep gash and Westmoreland bent to help when the horse lurched and struck him.

John W. Bester, a former Vernon man, died at his Amarillo home Tuesday morning after months of illness. He is survived by his widow, a son Jack, and a daughter Beth. Funeral services were held at his home and interment followed yesterday at Childress. Mrs. T. Glover, sister of Mrs. Bester, attended the funeral.
