Mrs O T Warlick of Vernon has purchased Round Timbers ranch on Red River, north county, totaling 5300 acres with about 2000 tillable. Original owners Newell Kerr and Patterson of Bellefontaine sold after three weeks’ negotiations. Sumner bought 1000 acres on the southeast, to be leased to cotton farmers. Warlick retains 4300 acres with nearly 1000 cultivated next year. Terms private.

R B Clifton owner of Clifton Studio moves this week to GT Smith building at the corner of Mainland Texas streets occupying both floors with reception and camera room on the first floor and work room on the second. He will offer special photographic work unseen west of Dallas and carry handcrafted miniatures. The studio traces back to T P Sink in 1889 and has changed sites from Main to North Main before arriving at the White building on Main street two years ago.

J S Harrison age 60, formerly of Fargo, died at his Lockney farm Wednesday night after a brief illness. Survived by widow and two sons Guy and Doyle and seven daughters Linnie, Maurine, Reta, Eleta, Winnie Rhae, Monette, and Mrs Herman Murdock. Funeral plans include all in attendance. A Baptist church member, he is interred in Lockney cemetery.

The Wharger County gin receipts up to November 28 reached 54,238 bales, with last week at 50,269 and a weekly total gain near 4,000 bales. Weather hindered activity much of the week while most cotton had been gathered. Grand total produced in Wharger County and neighboring counties stands at 4,987 with a year-earlier tally of 7,088.

A W Bodson Dodson, once a long-time county resident, died at his Huntington Tennessee home on Armistice Day at age 75. He first came to Wilharter County with Tennessee emigrants and lived here intermittently until health declined. He was related to the late Dr A E Dodson and was remembered as a good neighbor and upright citizen by friends and feuds members alike.

South Vernon pool wells show progress on several discoveries
Four wells are setting casing for completion inside the South Vernon pool. The Charles Kolp No 1 in Waggoner was completed for 150 to 200 barrels daily. Bridwell & Heydrick and South Vernon wells on the Stephens tract were casing No 3 and No 4 at 1960 and 148 feet, with No 5 at 165 feet. Water lines from Varndise Creek are in service, reducing shutdown risk. Wildcat tests are underway from the pool but too shallow for prospects yet.

Ro Switch, a carrier from Vernon, was struck by paralysis in the early Monday morning. His right side is completely paralyzed and the left side is affected to some degree.
