Junior College Still Experiment Explored By Texas Tech Leader
Dr. BW Elamny president of Texas Technological Police at Larnbork spoke Friday at the high school on junior colleges. He argued that communities with high tax values can support junior colleges without burdening other schools, but cities far from colleges or tightly taxed districts should avoid free tuition and duplication of existing college offerings. He noted Rice Institute in Latston provides comparable instruction at no cost and opposed adding junior college work to regular high schools. He said distant cities with patronage could succeed, yet fiscally strained communities should not undertake the burden.
