Crowds visited the new lakeside site as high water covered several acres. Children played near the lake while others swam. Locals praised the slope embankments and planned tree and grass plantings to create one of the West’s prettiest parks, with water rising four feet in places before the swimming season.

Auditor Crow of Wichita Falls, with the firm Audis Conway of Texas, is in the city to audit the city books regarding the filmnation proceedings to prevent spending on an electric plant. Crow began his work this morning.
Six men and one woman were taken into custody by Sheriff Frank Edmondson and Deputy Mo London after a raid on a Negro horse near the oil mill. The group was arrested on charges of gaming with enras.
Dr H H Eaton former American Legion commander from Altus Oklahoma dies in Roswell New Mexico after an operation. Body brought to Vernon for burial with Legion and Altus friends in attendance. Interment at Fast View cemetery with services by local church and Legion posts.
