Autoway Tragedy Claims J C Anderson in Vernon

J C Anderson, 35, dies from injuries after a Saturday morning auto accident near Main Street Vernon. He was buried Sunday at Fast View Cemetery beside his wife and daughter. Survived by wife, daughter, two brothers UC Anderson of Gainesville and BR Anderson of Mayhetle, and his mother. He worked for Vernon Electric and Tee, the crash occurred when his hat blew off and he jumped from the vehicle, striking head on pavement. He died after hours in the hospital.

Roberts Farm Barns and Contents Destroyed by Fire

A barn and its contents were consumed by a Sunday night blaze at J DD Roberts near Vernon ten miles north on the Civen and Troward farm. Cotton seed, corn, harness, and other goods were lost, with a Ford engine saved. The family was away tending a relative and tragedy followed as the home burned before help arrived. The Vernon community rushed to the scene but could not save the structure.

Granddaughter of Beck Recovers Eye Injury After Specialist Opinion

The Fort Worth specialist predicts the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Beck will not lose her sight after a ghisab fragment pierced her eye. The child was struck when her brother threw the ghisa, the eyeball was penetrated but treatment in Fort Worth is reported to have aided recovery.
