Farmers Plan Poison Grasshoppers in South Port County
County agent D. Ciffney and Chamber of Commerce secretary Ra. M. Fielder led a meeting at Brown schoolhouse with farmers from the south part of the county. Grasshoppers are damaging crops and seem to be moving from Waggoner pasture. They approved using government grain brain poison, with a formula including bran, Paris Green, lemon or orange portions, molasses, and water. Mix and apply early morning or late afternoon to cover about five acres.
