Ratliff Burns Home Then Plans New Five Room House

C. H. Ratliff wrecked his Olive and Cumberland street residence and is constructing a five room house behind the old site after a fire that occurred while he and his wife were away watching election returns on November 4. He owns a 90 by 120 foot lot and plans a second similar home on the west half after finishing the current building.

A Fargo youth was given hydrophobia serum as a precaution after a dog in Austin reportedly showed unmistakable rabies signs. He had no bite wound but had handled the dog along with others in the neighborhood.

Wichita Falls Choir To Sing At Vernon High Tonight

Prominent Wichita Falls choir members will perform at the Vernon high school auditorium Tuesday night at 8 o'clock. Tickets cost 25 cents for adults and 10 cents for children. The program includes works by Shelly Verdi Rossini and Schubert with Wayne Holmes R ik Shepherd and Dr T D Parnell among the soloists. The Musicians club hosts the event with local hostesses.

Victim Loses 25 in Fort Worth Betting Game

At the Fort Worth depot three men challenged J. E. Moffett to open a knife. The $25 bet prompted two to flee in a car while the remaining man Frank Newton was arrested. Jasper Catwhon, one of the fugitives, has since been captured and jailed.

Negroes Arrested for Making Choe Beer

Deputy Sheriff J. M. Keesee arrested four Negroes, two men and two women, last Monday night at J. W. Seal's farm west of town for manufacturing choe beer. The suspects and the home brew were brought to town and jailed.

Baylor Bears name two captains for 1925 season

Baylor Bears will split captain duties in 1925 with Bill Coffey of Vernon and Homer Walker of Wars alternating leadership. Coffey, quarterback, has led the team for two seasons.
