Lubbock was chosen as the site for the Texas Technological College by the locating board after visits to Vernon Fort Worth and other towns. The board unanimously designated Lubbock County Texas as the official location and informed Tubbocek by telegram of the decision.

Moving Day Changes Offices in Wilbarger County Court House

Wilbarger County officials shuffled offices on moving day at the courthouse. S K Porterfield and W C Alderman swapped rooms on the second floor while John Nabers moved to a former county engineer space. James V Lenk and John A Storey will occupy Porterfield’s vacated room as Mrs C M Blair renovates the tax collector’s quarters.

All Frisco Trains Halt In Respect To President

Frisco trains nationwide stopped from 2 to 2 05 this afternoon as all work ceased in tribute to the late President Harding whose funeral was held today. Section hands baggage clerks ticket agents and other employees joined in silent tribute.

Vernon Couple Wed At Home Of Justice Of The Peace

W L Budd and Mrs Blanche Watson, both of Vernon, married at 9 o'clock Tuesday night by T J Griffiths, Justice of the Peace, at his West Vernon home. They will live in Vernon. Roy Morrison of Cordell Okla visiting his sister Mrs Harold Parsley. Morrison visited Harry Norwood in Electra this week.

R. W. Brunson Killed by Train in Chillicothe

R W Brunson 62 a longtime Chillicothe merchant and Moore Mill and Elevator official was killed yesterday afternoon when a freight train on the Fort Worth and Denver tracks struck him as he crossed to reach his home. Survived by widow, son O A Brunson of Vernon, and two daughters Mrs R B Gibson of Vernon and Mrs T A Davis of Claude. Funeral at 4 30 pm today at Presbyterian church with Rev McMurray in charge. Masonic Lodge to conduct rites.

Moe Egg Cast Now In R L More's Egg Collection Vernon

R L More expands his Vernon collection with a Moe egg cast from a bird once 12 to 14 feet tall. The extinct creature, dating back about 400 years, occupies space alongside 400 North American eggs and a few from abroad. Some eggs were unearthed in Mundagisea sands and are not purchasable, housed in world famous museums.

Prince Dies at 74 in Vernon After Illness

J E Prince 74 long time Vernon resident and prominent citizen dies Wednesday afternoon after months of illness. Funeral 4 oclock from Methodist church with Rev M K Little assisted by Rev Finis Cratchfield of Tallis. Interment View cemetery. Prince a Texas native born near Waiahachie and first white child born in Mitts county. Married Eddie Burton of Crockett fifty years ago. ten children with six surviving.
