Daniel Oil Company Increases Capital And Drilling Plans

The Daniel Oil Company will drill a well on six acres in Block 35 of the Red River Valley Subdivision after increasing capital stock from 60 000 to 320 000 by issuing new stock to Bell and Shelton. A drilling committee includes C D Shelton and W S Tandy. Shareholders are urged to return stock certificates for cancellation and reissue.

A small fire at Dr J B Dodson Jr's residence at the corner of Pease and Deaf Smith streets was reported about 11 in the morning. Firemen had the blaze under control before extinguishers were needed.

Purvis Dies in Pasadena Calif Former Vernon Resident

Wilbur Purvis, longtime Vernon resident, died at his home in Pasadena California on Saturday April 19. His only survivor is his ill wife. The body will be shipped to Vernon for burial within thirty days after temporary interment in Pasadena. Mrs Purvis is the sister of Mrs L B Robertson of Vernon.
