R C Cooper longtime Vernal councilman and mayor for 18 years is praised for building the Uintah Basin. He championed paved Vernal Salt Lake highway modern sewers waterworks and roads and sidewalks. His tireless work and readiness to assist in surgery reflect his unselfish service to the community.
The Canning Center in the west wing of the old Central School, run by the Board of Education, serves Ashley Valley and Uintah County.
