Roosevelt Unit Appeal Seeks Court Review Of Pooling Clause
Phillips Petroleum and five oil and gas associations appeal Judge Ritter's ruling that the Roosevelt Pool pooling clause is too indefinite and violates perpetuity rules. The case targets 31 Uintah County landowners who refused to join the unit and names Carter Oil as operator. Associations argue that no transfer of property interests occurs and that standard pooling forms may be jeopardized. Carter reportedly seeks to shrink the Roosevelt Unit area of about 34 000 acres.
