Southam Lamoréaux and Caldwell clinched Uintah County Republican nominations for county commissioner and sheriff. Southam defeated Toth 759 to 277 across eighteen precincts. Caldwell won Democratic sheriff votes while Harold Twitchell and Morris Caldwell faced last minute shakeups. Snyder received 17 write ins. Lamoreaux led in most precincts with North Vernal City and Willows among notable boosts.

Cars Collide at Blind Intersection in Vernal
A Tuesday afternoon crash at the Fifth East and Fifth South junction involved a 1950 Ford sedan driven by Arvin Wallace Nelson, 28, Vernal, and a 1851 Oldsmobile sedan driven by Leota Dow Murray, 46, Verna. More than five thousand visitors flocked to Dinosaur National Monument in the first eight months of 1934, a sharp rise from the prior year.
