The AVI academy held its first evening social on Sunday September 11 starting at 6 30 pm with a comedy film Every Girl Should Be Married. The Advanced Band performed in smart uniforms during the Roosevelt parade and class officer nominations began for ninth and lower grades with elections planned for September 18 and 21 respectively.

Three Sault Lake City teenagers aged 15 and 16 wrecked a 1951 Ford pickup owned by Carl Gadd two miles east of Lay after stealing it. They fled from Deputy Sheriff Bob Gadd, rolled the vehicle into a borrow pit, and abandoned it four miles east of Artesia when out of gas. The boys are held in custody in Craig by Bherritt Terril for further investigation.

A tiny brown rabbit found on Diamond Mountain by Eileen Searle’s dog was raised by Jan and Lin Tate in Vernal. The baby bun grew from hourly eye dropper feedings to a two hour schedule, then thrived in a box before returning to the wild as a healthy young rabbit.

Milk Order Referendum Under Way For Great Basin
A federal milk order referendum begins Thursday for producers in the Great Basin area Utah.
