Funeral Slated Friday for Alvin E. Smith
Alvin E. Smith 82, a Utah pioneer, died early Tuesday at Uintah County Hospital after a brief illness. Funeral services are set for Friday at 1 pm at the Ashley LDS Ward chapel with burial in Vernal Memorial Park Cemetery. He was born November 13, 1876, in Salt Lake City and lived in Manila, Daggett County, and Vernal. Survivors include his widow Lovina Stevens and four daughters, one son, 47 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.
