Chapel filled to capacity as obwan believed to be the target of WW efforts gathers in the First ward chapel hall to pay final respects to Eaton a prominent civic leader and former stake president. The service was conducted by the Second ward bishopric with remarks from local church and civic figures. Interment followed at Vernal cemetery with honors from local clergy and community members.

Funeral for P C Stringham Held at Maeser
Funeral services for Phillips Stringham who died at his home in Maeser were held in the Maeser chapel the prior week under Bishop Lester Dingham. The service included an invocation by Bishop Henry Stringham and a grave dedication by Melvin James of Ogden. Workers Alliance Organized in Uintah County Meeting
Members of the Workers Alliance in Uintah County organized a meeting that was postponed to Monday due to rain. Chaleanar Ellisworth Hardy was named chair, with Mark Pope as recording secretary and Kenneth Massey as financial secretary. Pope also serves as county representative on the state executive board which meets monthly. The alliance supported a WPA wage increase, with Pope and the IMCA organization reclassifying workers on the grand stand and gaining $15 per month including back pay.

Buck Pasture Dam to Be Fished by Fall
Work at Buck Pasture reservoir on Brush Creek Mountain progresses with tractors carryalls and crews placing dirt and rock. About one third of the dam fill has been added and completion is hoped before winter to store 800 acre feet of water for Ashley Valley farmers. The site hums with activity as engineers and WPA workers push toward a solid rock like structure and a 60 foot high dam surfaced with rock.

Auto Wreck Fatal to L. A. Markham Family
Mrs Sarah Ann Markham Larsen, 59, mother of nine, died after a car overturned on US 40 near Duchesne. Her husband John L Larsen and two daughters were injured. Larsen hospitalized with internal injuries, fractures, and shock. The crash occurred as the sedan veered from a newly graded section to the paved highway.
