Tragedy in Blackville Ends with Double Killing
In Blackville South Carolina Solomon Brown and constable John Gribben were killed in a feud related shooting at the depot. Solomon Brown and his sons Isadore and Herman clashed with Gribben after he opened a trunk believed to contain contraband whisky. Gribben was shot and died after a pistol duel. Solomon Brown and Isadore were charged as accessories with the coroner’s inquest determining Brown killed Gribben. The Brown family feud ends with a quiet town but a pending inquest on young Brown's death.

Children injured as grain shed collapses on Them
A Tuesday night accident at Mrs. Davis’s home near the R G W depot hurled a shed of grain sacks onto several children, including Epic Davis’s children and Mr Allum’s child. Rescue by bystanders saved lives. Dr Smart treated a boy with a feeding injury and other fractures were noted.
