The program costs about $6,000 yearly, largely offset by admissions and receipts, and aims to expand to include tenute and more camping and picnicking as facilities and participation grow.

Barson Pak on Shopping Centers and Urban Growth
Barson Pak argues shopping centers succeed when backed by strong department stores or supermarkets, are self-sustaining with surrounding development, and are well financed. He urges downtown store reform, warns about government favoritism, and stresses parking, taxation, and extended evening hours to boost local commerce. He notes urban growth shifts and envisions mixed-use streets with upper-story residences near retail.
