Forest tour visits span Vernal to Flaming Gorge dam site
Regional forest chiefs led a week long inspection through Spirit and Tamarack Lakes to Flaming Gorge dam area and back, assessing insect attacks and trail work. Participants include Gilbert Dall Ashley National Forest supervisor Dean Mowland Ranger Dick Leichtland Val Simpson and others. the York family travels through Utah on the trip, visiting Vernal for the first time in six years as Mr York is stationed in Key West Florida. The itinerary covered Red Cloud Loop Mosby Mountain Paradise Park Whiterocks Canyon Elk Mountain Farm Creek Peak Lake Atwood Anderson Pass and several lake basins with focus on timber access roads and recreational facilities.

Scout executive of the Utah Nationals Parks Council wed to Noorevelt last week after resigning from Camp Maple Dell. Nearly 1200 boys and leaders camped at the camp near Payson Utah with 10 of 42 Uintah Basin troops participating. Council lists show many attendees and staff, including Mr Skinner as Camp Director for parts of the season and involvement in Explorer Wilderness Trek.
