Vinnie Exund has gone to California to visit relatives. Mr and Mrs John Jackson of Orem were visitors in Leota over two days, sharing greetings and local chatter with residents.
Grandma Evans, long IM, is reported seriously ill again. W L Whitlock was in Roose on Saturday evening. George Justice of Lapoint worked a new threshing machine nearby last week. Wheat crop is reported very good. Mr and Mrs Sam Snyder, Mr and Mrs Frank Peterson, Bishop Join Zolton, Roy Carne and a group visited Roosevelt last week.
Keith Alt erra and Miss Margaret Dietz organize health work at the local high school for the coming year. Music staff turnover includes Schmidt and Morrill with tours to Huntington and Tridell. Fort Duchesne visitors solicit museum materials while a clean up squad works on school grounds under George Bracken. Community members bring peaches, share injuries, and attend a grandmother Evans funeral.
White rocks for several years, men hold similar positions in a government school in Wyandote. Holgar Lowe regains mobility six weeks after a wool pack accident pinning him beneath it. Mr. and Mrs. Smith and kin from Plymouth and Salt Lake City received word of illness of Mrs. Smith’s mother. Alterra residents and visitors include Maclay Magleby, Miss Page Allred, and Mrs. Edith Allred among others. A new school year brings Luke Clegg and Esther Huff to lead Alterra High School. Merle Bracken and Lynn Campbell wed in Vernal. the couple plans Roosevelt residence, then Carbon County. Tony Garcia traveled to Kuichesne on Sunday.
Mrs Lena Allred and Mr and Mrs Lawrence Allan of McGill Nev left last Thursday for home after a week at Mr and Mrs Laurence Abeggien s home. Grace Manwaring hosted about fifteen girls for her fourteenth birthday party. Mr and Mrs Campbell of Delts Golo and four children spent a night at Mrs Laura Evans home. Joe Galley and Mrs Galley of Midway visited Mr and Mrs Laurence Abeggien. News from California says Mr Collier s health is improved. Mr and Mrs C H Brarce and daughter Arlene plan to move to Salt Lake. Haws family returned from Pleasant Grove after funeral services. Kathleen York left by bus for work in San Francisco after a visit with her parents. Amira Harrison attended a Duke family reunion in Heber City. A waffle supper at the Goodrich home honored Kathleen York with attendees including Miss Georgia Milburn Mrs Don Olson Stephen Stringham and Miss Aston Goodrich. Mrs Stringham returned Monday to the sheep camp.
Mrs Ruby Phelps entertained about twenty five ladies at the J M Alfred home in honor of Mrs Wm Grillis. The gathering featured games and refreshments with a social afternoon. Attendees included Mr and Mrs A Q Goodrich Frank and Ruth Goodrich J N Lybbert and Leon Powell.
Local residents including Mr. and Mrs. J. D. McLeod and Watsons visitors this week. The 4-H club work under Y. M. C. A. auspices showcased in Meeker on August 18 with Inez Rector first prize and Florence Jones third in second year work. Rangely group chaperoned by Virginia Jones for the Pueblo state fair. Nearby visits to Ogden, Craig, and Grand Junction noted along with donations to the library and threshing advancing countywide. The Blanco County Fair is set for September 4 at Meeker.
