Cycle Auto Crash Injures Two Teens in Uintah County

JoAnn Lee 17 and John Toles 19 were injured Monday night when a northbound motorcycle hit a car driven by J Robert Bath as he turned into a driveway. Lee suffered a compound leg fracture and lacerations. Toles had head injuries and bruises. Both were reported improved Wednesday.

Local Man Guilty In Vernal Liquor Case

A. B. Ball, manager of the Vernal Bowling Alley, was found guilty by a three man and one woman jury on liquor charges. He was sentenced to 80 days in jail with $150 fine, 70 days suspended. The raid occurred Oct 1 at 11:45 p.m. by local officers. the council revoked the license and the alley was closed briefly. It has since reopened under Bill Woods.

Weather and muddy access cut Uintah County hunting effort sharply this season with deer taken down to about ten percent of last year’s peak yet most hunters returning with deer. Residents urged to vote in Vernal city election

Ralph Ste and Siddowir along with Dr. Hansen urged residents of Vernal to vote on November 8. Registration at 141 North Vernal Ave and home of Evelyn Richardson extended hours. Rites Held for Lawrence Scott Vernal Resident

Funeral services for Lawrence Kennedy Scott 40 Vernal resident were held Monday in Vernal First Ward Chapel following his death Thursday at Uintah County Hospital He was born December 26 1908 in Vernal to John Tung and Lydia Blanche Gurr Scott and married Thelma Gurr December 27 1928 He worked for Stephen Stringham in the sheep business and was a member of the LDS Church.
