Government Sues Over Green River Bed Title Dispute
The United States files suit in Salt Lake City to quiet title to roughly 26,000 acres along 350 miles of Green River bed across Daggett Uintah Carbon Emery and Grand counties from the Utah Wyoming line to the Utah Colorado boundary and near Ten Mile Canyon. The action targets rights of Ute Indians and others with a state estimate of about 35 oil and gas leases in the area.

State Insurance Chief Addresses Vernal Rotary

Wheat Signup Underway for 1963 Program
The 1963 Wheat Stabilization Program signup opened Oct. 15, with diversions of 20 to 50 percent of wheat acreage allowed and payments tied to normal production. Farmers must divert full signed-up acreage to be eligible for any payments, with 18 cent price support on diverted wheat and a $1.82 per bushel national minimum for regular price support.
