Fire destroys Maeser home after midnight blaze
A fire swept through the Corey Grua home in Maeser early Thursday, destroying a $40,900 house and nearly all possessions. Marilyn and Corey saved their three children with injuries to Marilyn requiring stitches. Melissa, the infant, survived after mouth to mouth resuscitation, and was treated for smoke inhalation at a Salt Lake City hospital. The family plans to rent temporarily while rebuilding with community aid.

The Bureau of Reclamation calls for bids to build 41 000 linear feet of barbed wire fencing around the Red Fleet Caim and reservoir 10 miles northeast of Vernal, part of the Jensen Unit of the Central Utah Project. Additional work includes removing 6 300 feet of old fence and installing three cattle guards. The project is estimated to cost 50 000 to 100 000 dollars.
