Mrs William Witbeck Sr returned from a six week trip to France with a Utah delegation of Gold Star mothers. They toured Paris Verdun and Argonne cemeteries visiting Evan and Alden Witbeck graves and the Unknown Soldier tomb while paying tribute to fallen service members. They traveled from New York aboard the American and returned on the President Roosevelt, after stops across the east.

Four Uintah and Duchesne County 4H girls led by Miss Iane Johnson and Iris Manwar ing won top state honors in the judging contest after evaluating jars of vegetables and fruit loaves gowns and slips. Other participants included Miss Vera Hansen Miss Oral Mackay Miss Aston Clegg and Mrs Pearl Redmond from Roosevelt with chaperon Miss Alica Pedersen. County exhibits featured cooking and sewing across first to third year groups at Maeser and Vernal led by various leaders. The group stayed at the Newhouse hotel and received free fair passes daily.
