Grand Jury Asked for Investigation of Bank
Minority stockholders of the Bank of Duchesne petitioned Judge Elias Hansen for a grand jury to probe the bank after it closed March 4, 1921 under a state charter. Judge Hansen sought the bank commissioner Seth Pixton’s recommendation on an audit before the grand jury. Pixton agreed but said the audit should be done by a receiver approved by the court and performed by a certified public accountant, with the report admissible in court.
