Mrs. Irene Dickson Buried in Randlett Utah

Mrs. Irene Dickson died October 8 at the family home in Fort Duchesne Utah after two years of pernicious anemia. Funeral services were held October 10 at the Episcopal church in Randlett with Rev. Fryer and Rev. J. W. Howes officiating. Interment in Randiett cemetery. She was born November 29 1858 in Ashley valley, married to Fred Dickson August 3 1899 and leaves a husband three daughters Mabel Cuttle Hazel Mildred, a mother Sarah Carroll, and sisters Hazel Smith Belle Garner and Fred Marston. She helped found Fort Duchesne school and was active in Girls Friendly Society and community affairs.

Utah Alfalfa Seed Crop Bigger This Year

The October report from the United States Bureau of Markets and Crops notes Utah alfalfa seed production will rise about 4,000 bushels due to more land in seed. Harvested from 19,000 acres, 6.6 bushels per acre yield, total around 72,000 bushels, with statewide damage from grasshoppers reducing acreage in Boxelder and Emory counties and doubling in Uintah and Duchesne.
