Parleys Canyon Four Lane Widening Nears Completion
Parleys Canyon will be closed for a year to finish a $1.101 million four lane widening project west of Mountain Dell. Gibbons and Reed Construction Co. to start highway work in October with a target completion in October 1956. The plan adds a one level Foothill Drive and 27th South interchange, lowers grades, and regrades curves as part of broader postwar efforts to improve the coast to coast route.

Germany Transfer Anticipated for Lewis Cesspooch
Pvt. Lewis Cesspooch, son of Mr and Mrs Juan Cesspooch of Randlett, is slated to transfer to Germany early next year with the 11th Airborne Division under Operation Gyroscope. He will leave Kentucky to Ft Campbell with the unit, after the 11th replaces the 5th Infantry in Germany. He joined the service June 17, 1954, and serves in Battery B 88th Airborne Anti Aircraft Battalion.
