Vernal Utah Opens WPA Nursery School as State Project

Vernal Manila Road Project Under CCC Labor

A major road improvement program began November 1 on the Vernal Manilla highway. The CCC camp in Sheep Creek canyon, under cooperation with the forest department, will repair Carter Creek and Birch Creek sections and extend work for at least six months. About 1,000 workers are expected to be employed, with funding for a set period.

Uintah County Sets Six Day Pheasant Hunt Start

Uintah County joins seven Utah counties for a six day pheasant hunt from Sunday November 6 to Friday November 11. Deputy Warden Floyd Noel notes the crop appears above average and urges hunters to obtain permission from landowners and avoid livestock. No closed season is declared this year.
