Memorial Day Program Sunday At Dino Quarry
A Memorial Day observance at the Dinosaur Quarry site, sponsored by the Verna Junior Chamber of Commerce, features two speakers from Balk Lake City and Wyoming. The Uintah High School band, directed by Lloyd Winn, will perform. Rev Willard Spence chairs the committee. The program starts 3:30 p.m. with musical selections, invocations, speeches by Perry W Jenkins and Ven. Wm. P. Bultzley, national and local dignitaries, and a patriotic chorus. The event honors Dr Earl Douglass, his father and sister. UHS band will provide transport, and American Legion members handle grave decorations and flag presentation.

The Uintah High School fourteenth annual commencement held Friday evening in the UHS Auditorium featured 69 graduates presented by Principal H. Ms. Lundell. The program, entirely student produced, showed department activity dioramas and earned hearty applause. Awards included Don Ball receiving the L. H. Atlan meritorious award a $100 scholarship. Howard Lewis as outstanding boy. Deon Hatch and Agneta Nor Estled receiving pen and pencil sets. Enid Tambert honored as outstanding Junior girl with a ring from the Faculty Women's League.

Death of A C Boyle Sr at Vernal Hospital
A C Boyle Sr 88 father of Dr A C Boyle Jr superintendent at Dinosaur National Monument died Sunday at a Vernal hospital after a brief illness. Born January 17 1869 in Kirtland Indiana he moved to Utah in 1849 and later lived in Millcreek. He was a carpenter and millwright who traveled for selling companies. Survived by a daughter four sons many grandchildren and great grandchildren Funeral held at the Egyptian Burial Gardens near his old home.

River Victims Located Near Scene of Death
Bodies recovered from the Green River tragedy near the Stewart ferry six miles below Ouray. Thomas McKenna found Tuesday evening near two miles downstream. Hank Stewart recovered Wednesday morning after a drift through the gorge. Sheriff J Emery Johnson led a 40 to 60 person search from Stewart ferry to the gorge. Rewards totaling 650 and 46100 were posted for the recovery of each body. Funeral plans arranged by Leota ward bishopric and Vernal Lodge No 24 IOOF. Hank Stewart, born May 1, 1868 at the Blars ranch, was a famed plainsman associated with Ed Lee and Preston G. Nutter.
