City officials discussed the Untali codty soldiers Monument during Wednesday's meeting. The council unanimously approved a personal subscription of $65 each. Electric meters for the tourist camp ground have not arrived delaying installation of camp house stoves, but tourists praise the new campground and facilities.
Resurfacing Project 10 A Through The Twist Begins
A. G. Young and company started resurfacing project No 10 A through The Twist last week. The crew works at Twelve Mile Gulch with gravel beds found by W H Vartey, the resident engineer, saving the state thousands. Each pit holds 600 cubic yards, and completion is expected in about a month. The road has never been accepted by the federal road commission.

Samuel F. Carpenter 64 formerly of Vernal died at his Salt Lake City home after long illness. He moved from Vernal to Salt Lake 60 years ago and served as city marshal in Vernal and later guard at the state prison. Survived by widow Hanna Carpenter and children William of Evanston Idaho Charles F. of Vernal Fred of Manti Mrs. J J Hooper of Ogden and Mrs Emma Eldredge of Salt Lake City. Funeral services attended by son Charles F Carpenter and Mrs Besala Markey.

Estimates Sought on Brick and Lumber for Federal Building

The Uintah High School graduation on Thursday marked the largest class ever at the U H S in Uintah, with 31 graduates comprising 17 boys and 14 girls. Valedictorian was Fernando Ellingford, and Prof Lutter Bjornason of the University of Utah gave the address in the Uintah stake tabernacle with music by the U H S band.

Mrs James H Wallis Injured After Fall in Salt Lake Basement
Mrs. James H Wallis of Salt Lake City formerly of Vernal was severely injured after accidentally falling down a basement stairway at her daughter's home. She was unconscious for a time, with head and body bruises and several broken wrist bones per X ray. Her husband Mr Wallis was away in the East and learned of the injury upon returning.
