The Willcox Academy graduation was held Wednesday evening at Orpheus hall before a large audience. Eighteen graduates, six boys and thirteen girls, received diplomas as Principal G A Downey presided. Class motto Only the Beginning is Hard. Margaret Ratliff was valedictorian.

Green River reaches high water mark this year
The Green River rose to its annual high crest on Tuesday May 20 and has since fallen. Water flow now stands about 60 percent of levels seen at the same date last year. If mountain rains are light this summer, the low water may approach the 1919 low.

Interment in Jengeh cemetery. Chatwin, born September 14 1831 in Venas Haven Fox Island Maine, joined the church in 1838 and journeyed to Salt Lake City in 1850.

At a mass meeting presided by Pontha Calder on June 5 delegates were selected to go to the state convention in Ogden to choose delegates for the National presidential convention in New York City. Willcox Academy Closes Twenty Years of Ashley Valley Work
The American Missionary Association voted in New York on April 8 1924 to close Willcox Academy in Ashley Valley. The building will serve as a parish house for the local church with Home Missionary society support while Willcox becomes a field for church programs. Willcox and Provo work shift to Congregational and Home Missionary leadership as Proctor Academy remains active in a new building. Willcox’s end marks a transition rather than a removal, with Willcox’s site to aid Vernal community outreach and provide housing for the new minister Willcox’s governor Downey and Earl Douglass noted for Vernal business and church support.

Heber Wardle Glines Pioneer Buried Friday
Funeral services for Heber Wardle Glines a pioneer of the Ashley Valley were held Friday morning at 10 o clock from the Glinc ward meeting house. He died in Roosevelt on May 20 after a pneumonia relapse born October 17 1860 in Salt Lake City. He married Amanda A. Fausett in 1870 and had 14 children 66 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. He is buried beside his wife in the Macser cemetery after funeral attendance by Joseph A. McKee George Perry and others.
