Regional boxing tourney slated Friday Saturday
Led by Eddie Martinez the first boxer to win four state Junior Olympics championships, the AD-PEP boxing club won four Utah state titles in Salt Lake City last Saturday. Boxers Lee Martinez Roosevelt 1205 Andy Santio Ft Duchesne 112 Robert Bunch 135 and Eddie Martinez Roosevelt 110 qualified for the Intermountain State Regional Tournament in Ft Duchesne Friday and Saturday at 8 pm. STATE CHAMPIONS from Utah will face state titleholders from Idaho and Nevada. Winners advance to the National Finals in Green Bay Wisconsin. The Utah team includes boxers from Mexican Youth Program Sena's Tooele Stan's Orem Lee's Marshal White Center Ogden St George Fullmer West Jordan AD-PEP Roosevelt Grantsville and Bullock's Midvale. The Intermountain States Regional Tournament will be in the Multi purpose Building in Fr Duchesne Friday and Saturday.

Utah deer harvest final tabs reveal 1976 results
Final statewide deer hunting tabulations show 169 705 hunters scoring a 32 7 percent success in regular season. In 1975 177 056 regular season deer hunters had a 234 percent success rate. Special control permits yielded 388 harvested with 21 percent success. Archers totaled 14 443 taking 74 bucks for 6 percent success. Statewide harvest totaled 56 773 deer.

Cpl L Jordan tours the Mediterranean with MAU unit
Marine Corporal Leonard L. Jordan of Vernal returned from a six month deployment with HMM 264 based at New Silver Air Station Jacksonville NC. The unit supported U.S. Sixth Fleet operations in the Mediterranean including night amphibious drills in Greece and joint exercises in Spain. Jordan and crew also visited Palma de Mallorca during the cruise.
