Open house for Uintah Learning Center marks new facility
An open house and ribbon cutting at the Uintah Learning Center will be held Tuesday at 1:20 PM and 1:30 PM respectively. The center at 4149 North 2500 West serves students with special needs, replacing the Maeser School, which will be torn down after next week. Shirley Wilkins directs the program with four teachers and four aides. enrollment is 56 of 75 capacity. Built by Remea Construction, the $330,000 facility includes four multipurpose rooms with a stage, a rubberized floor, and nine teaching stations. Tours will be offered of both buildings, with punch and cookout served.

Paint truck leaves mark in crash at Steinaker dam
A loaded soda ash truck nicked a Utah State Paint truck causing yellow paint to spew down the highway from Steinaker dam into Ashley Valley.
