Police School Held By FBI Agent
Arthur Corless returned to his post after injuries from an automobile accident to participate in a police school at the Vernal American Legion hall. Special agent J. C. Newman of the FBI conducted the sessions with Utah Peace Officers Association cooperation, covering arrest technique and firearms practice for Uintah and Duchesne county peace officers.

Stake House Ward Edifice Work Started
Ground breaking began on the Uintah State Tabernacle and Third Ward chapel last Thursday noon with dedicatory rites. The modern structure will seat 400 in the auditorium and have equal capacity in recreation rooms, twelve classrooms, and many ward facilities. Over 200 witnesses attended as Orson Jones spoke and stake and ward officials participated.

In Vernal on Saturday a steer owned by Stella Jenkins was named grand champion alternate at the Uintah Basin Junior Livestock Show and Sale. The steer will be butchered for steaks and roasts starting tomorrow at the Corner Store, Fifth West and First South, with a reported sale price of 471.50 dollars.
