Basin Area Mental Health Officers Named For Uintah Basin
An Uintah Basin mental health group formed the Basin Mental Health Committee at an organizational meeting in the Uintah courtroom. A $2600 drive for one year of part time clinic work was planned with support from the State Bureau of Mental Health. The project will fund a psychologist, a psychiatrist, and a social worker for Uintah Duchesne and Daggett counties. Officers named: Dr Vernon C Young permanent chairman Erland Preece treasurer Helen Stevens secretary. New Range Survey Details Losses From Loco Weeds
A Uintah Basin range survey reports severe winter losses to sheep from loco weed on the Uintah County range. Dr Valentine and Dr Binns led the Utah State University Extension team with USDA ARS personnel to inspect Bonanza to Willow Creek. McCoy notes losses of about 34,000 ewes since January and a reduced lamb crop, with over 100 dead sheep found in a single pile awaiting burning. Dope Suspects Held After Vernal Stop
Two suspected dope addicts, a man and woman, were stopped by Sergeant Powell at 1st North and Vernal Avenue for running a stop sign.
