West Side junior high school approved by Uintah district
Uintah School District board of education last week approved a new junior high school between Alterra and Union High School on the west side. The project will cost 250 000 to 300 000 dollars, with 150 000 from a federal school building grant. The remainder will be raised by tax levy if needed after revising federal grant application. Architect Lorenzo Young, who designed Uintah High, will prepare plans.

Two Juveniles Arrested in Uintah High School Burglary
Two fifteen year old boys from Vernal and Jensen burglarized Uintah High School’s Industrial Arts building last Saturday between 7 and 8 pm by breaking a north wall window. Stolen items were radios and $4.60. A Jensen youth was later picked up after missing school and turned to juvenile authorities. the other remained at large.

Exploding Fuel Oil Burns Naples Ward Resident
A Naples resident, Gardiner, suffered severe burns after an oil fumes explosion while trying to start a fire in the front room stove. His wife Elsie and two daughters were unhurt. neighbors helped fight the blaze until firefighters arrived. Damages estimated at 700 dollars with extensive fire and smoke damage but home repairable. Gardiner was hospitalized for burns to arms hands legs and chest.
